Charin Satchayan has been practicing laws in Thailand for almost 30 years and has advised on several landmark transactions in various industries in Thailand and overseas, including ASEAN and Europe.
Charin's main practice areas are real estate investment trusts (REITs), real estate development, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance and private wealth practice. He also has specialized knowledge and expertise in specific industries such as real estates, hotel, energy, infrastructure, aviation and financial institutions.
Over the past decades, Charin has represented major commercial banks throughout the Asian Financial Crisis, and other clients in Thailand in raising funds from domestic and international capital markets under Regulation S and Rule 144A, including IPO of Bangkok Airways. As a pioneer of REITs practice in Thailand, he has provided comprehensive advice to the majority of the REIT market that encompasses real estate projects of various categories, such as shopping malls, factories, office buildings, residential buildings and hotels. He has also advised the sellers and the purchasers in many M&A transactions involving publicly-listed and private companies.
As one of the highly respected counsels on corporate matters, Charin is a member of the Takeover Panel appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand, as well as an Independent Director of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited. From 2010 to 2017, Charin was appointed by the Asian Development Bank as National Legal Expert to support various ADB projects on PPP and capital markets.
